Bio:
Tara is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA) and Certified Life Coach. Tara received her Master’s degree in Master of Science in Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Phoenix in January 2023. Prior to, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Services from The University of Phoenix in 2013. Tara is multiculturally competent and well versed in working with, groups, individuals with depression and anxiety, as well as, a Certified Mental Health First-Aider. She is also a member of the American Counseling Association, and Certified~Member to train and publicly speak about Mental Health with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

Counseling Approach:
Tara’s approach in session is to provide her clients with a safe space, non-judgmental, relaxed environment, and a place to be who they are, that establishes a foundation of trust, rapport, empathy, and a place of growth. She believes that a collaboration between therapist and client is essential to the growth of the client, as well as; helping the client gain confidence within themselves. Tara believes that her clients should feel empowered to participate in their healing process and feel empowered to live the life they deserve to live. Each individual has the power to create their life story without holding onto the mistakes of the past, and feel the freedom of forgiveness of self and others. In order to help clients grow into confidence renew their strengths, and build a sense of purpose; Tara incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach.

Specialties & Population Served:
Tara’s passion is working with children, teens, and adults including: individuals, couples, groups, and families. She has provided services to clients addressing a wide range of concerns including: anxiety, depression, trauma, life stressors, communication issues, behavioral issues, spirituality, Christian counseling/faith-based upon request.

Fun Fact:
In her free time, she enjoys traveling (never the same place twice), working-out, and spending time with family. Tara’s favorite free time activity is riding her motorcycle & participating in motorcycle track racing.
