Counseling Approach:
Shaye believes that counseling is not a one-size-all journey. By providing a therapeutic experience grounded in creating a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where clients of all ages feel safe to explore, heal, and grow. Life can bring profound challenges, and Shaye is deeply committed to holding space for clients' darkest moments- helping clients navigate, cope with, and carry pain without judgment. Her core belief in wellness comes from walking alongside clients so they don't feel like they're facing challenges alone. Shaye believes every individual and relationship is unique and draws from a diverse and integrative toolkit to meet clients exactly where they are.

Therapeutic Approaches:
To best support clients' personal goals, Shaye blends evidence-based frameworks with deeply humanistic approaches:

Relational & Deep healing: She is actively training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help couples build intimacy and navigate conflict, as well as Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help individuals heal, understand their inner pain, and integrate different parts of themselves. Shaye may utilize Psychodynamic Therapy to help clients uncover how past experiences, early attachments, and unconscious patterns shape the present life of the client to help the client find, focus, separate, or unblend inner parts of complex trauma. Additionally, Shaye is a certified Community Resiliency Model Teacher through the Trauma Research Institute.

Skill-Building & Processing: Shaye utilizes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to provide practical tools for coping with intense emotions, practicing mindfulness, and shifting unhelpful thought patterns.

Goal-Oriented & Present-Focused: Shaye incorporates Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Reality Therapy, and Adlerian therapy to help clients foster personal responsibility, connect with their community, and build actionable paths forward.

Specialties & Population Served:
A significant portion of Shaye's practice has been dedicated to supporting young minds. She has extensive experience working with neurodivergent elementary-aged individuals. Having spent years designing and implementing tailored individual interventions within the elementary school setting, Shaye understands how to advocate for children and to provide them with the specialized, creative support they need to thrive. For clients who desire it, she may also incorporate faith-based practices into the therapeutic process. Shaye honors individual spiritual journeys, and she is happy to weave clients’ faith into their work together as a source of strength, hope, and healing - always entirely at the clients’ comfort level and pace.
