Bio:
Jenny received her undergraduate degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001 and her Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (#14366), a Nationally Certified Counselor (#207685), and a Licensed School Counselor (#977219). Prior to beginning work as a School Counselor in 2010, she worked as a Special Education Teacher and Case Manager for 8 years.

Counseling Approach:
Jenny is primarily person-centered in her counseling as she seeks to build a therapeutic relationship with clients. She enjoys using Biblical principles and prayer in session upon request for those seeking Christian counseling. Jenny operates predominantly from a Solution-Focused approach while using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, mindfulness, relaxation, communication building, conflict resolution, and assertiveness training techniques and strategies. She also meets clients holistically by helping them assess and determine how their diet, sleep, and movement patterns impact the quality of their daily life, mood, relationships, and mental health.
Jenny believes in the power of connection; that a key component to therapy is building a safe, trusting relationship; and that everyone needs someone to listen to and help them advocate for their best interests.

Jenny was born and raised in Charlotte. In her free time, she enjoys being an active member at a local church, spending quality time with her husband and 4 children, Holy Yoga, Zumba, getting outdoors, and traveling.
